STROMBERGSHYTTAN crystal glass Vintage 50s mid century small minimalist vase by designer Asta Stromberg. Strombergshyttan is a glassworks in Hovmantorp in Lessebo municipality, Kronoberg county in Smaland in Sweden. Asta Stromberg has become a classic, like Gerda Strombergs from the 1930s. Both in the same clean and timeless design. Gerda Stromberg designed not much new glass after her husbands death in 1946. She moved from Strombergsyttan to Vaxjo and became a mentor for her daughter in law, Asta. A catalog from 1954 contains information about designers. Astas glass was largely inspired by Gerda Stromberg and some of Gerdas models got renewed forms by her. Asta Stromberg designed glass for Strombergshyttan from late 1940s to the mid 1970s.
